This tale is of a Nike Dunk SB maniac I know for sometime. Fred, all of 21 years of age, is conveniently employed in a NY PR firm. Not that his cacoethes have surfaced after his employment but it aggravated against all expectations that he would be more responsible with his finance management. The guy doesn’t bother paying hundreds of dollars to buy his favorite kicks. Worse, he collects more of the special editions which any way comes with higher price tags. What irks his parents more is his changed behavior and indifference to life. Fred doesn’t even hesitate to risk his job when he gets scent of a new release days ahead which he spends in a state of trance chatting and discussing that Nike Dunk SB. It wasn’t so when he picked up the frenzy a few years ago with Nike Air Jordans. A limited edition, The Nike Dunk SB Low, was released only in quick strike stores in California. The only specialty it carried was California flag's colors was rumored to have had only 400 released. Our friend flew down to California to buy a piece for him. There are Nike Dunk SB maniacs in the making too. One of them wasn’t even aware whether the shoes should be worn by skateboarders only. Needless to say that they are also worthy as casuals, the asker dropped enough clues of a fanatic in the making. A browse through eBay’s pages throws more light. eBay sellers cleverly keep open the bidding times tantalizingly for a week to increase bidders’ frenzy. Last minute bidders find it impossible to place their bids without squeezing their wallets hard, if they choose to bid. I know a few of them talking sour of the product when they are unable to bid saying that they would buy them if they were limited releases. You know, on its part, Nike also takes materials, characters, colorsways from originals to spin out new designs. Yes, Nike Dunk SB is irresistibly desirable. Although designed for skateboarding, can you expect Nike to mind it if they are sold as casuals? Moreover, it is not just the technicalities that appeals to other sports persons but the styling and comforts besides the hyper active secondary market. For one, it is sure that Nike Dunk SB is a result of all the best quality design features which Nike has to offer. Sitting pretty amidst the hype and hoopla, Nike continues to make shoes in limited numbers but, as everyone is aware of, in inimitable, beguilingly captivating styles. Although began with basketball and running shoes, Nike was quick to scale up to all sports such as tennis, golf, football and etc. Yet, the frenzy never seems to be having any end in the vicinity. Fred has over 60 pairs of Dunk SB shoes apart from a few Nike Air Jordans he purchased way back. Down the line, he may slow down or call it quits entirely, but as they say, the world is not small for Nike.
