Off The Rack Literally from the rack to your back, no measuring needed, just try it on to see if it fits. Some stores offer alterations to the suit; shortening sleeves or cuffing trousers and taking in or letting out the waistband.Being a ready-to-wear garment the ability to change the fit is limited. If you are too tall or have posture that doesn't work with the suit, the suit will always look like it doesn't fit. It's not easy to walk into a store and pick out a suit from the rack and walk out feeling good. If it fits well and you like it, that's great, though most times that's not the experience you get. Off the rack suits are one shape fits all and as expected, they rarely fit anyone very well. Made-To-Measure A step up from the off the rack suits. For a made to measure suit, a few measurements are taken, then the shop sends those measurements to a factory.Using a pattern, usually one from the off the rack suit that has a style to your liking, the suit is adjusted to meet your specifications before it comes off the line. Made-to-measure suits can fit a bit better for those with special tailoring needs. Material can be added or removed in the cutting to areas where it is needed. Jacket length and pockets can be negotiated, though you are still pretty limited to what can be done because the company is altering a fixed pattern. You can choose your own fabric yet the fit and design are often dependent on the pattern, and if your body is a very different shape than that pattern, made to measure may not fit you even with the most drastic alterations made at the factory. Bespoke Also called custom or bench made. it's the chance to have exactly what you want in a fit that doesn't make you think it was made for another man. And when you go custom you can get exactly what you want. A bespoke suit is completely made for your body with your measurements, posture, height, shoulders back shape leg width hip placement – absolutely everything taken into account. To have one made, a studied tailor must look at your body, and after all the needed data is taken, design a pattern for your body and your body alone. You can have the fabric you choose, have the pockets where you want them. decide every little detail from lapel widths to having hidden pockets, it's all up to you. It's not a cookie cutter suit that makes you look close enough for public acceptance, it's a suit that if executed correctly will make you look taller, thinner, smarter and better.
