Your choice of song will need to be within your vocal range and experience. Pushing your voice through your favourite Mariah Carey track is not the way to go, don’t take on a song that’s too much for you! A song that you really love will always sound better because your instinctive enjoyment of this particular song will add the glimmer. You must try and find your ‘Banquet Song,’ known as a Juhachiban in Japan, this is the song that will always delight the audience and create some well deserved attention.

2)Practice Makes Perfect

If you have no previous experience of Karaoke then time would be well spent with the hair brush will improve your performance on the day. If you have the facilities to then record a bit of your singing and see if you really sound good and even a second opinion could help your preparation.

3)Warming Up Your Voice

On your big night make sure your voice has had a good break and if you know your due to perform then warm up your vocals by humming along to the song that is on before you giving a miss to any notes you know you can’t hit.

The secret to enhancing your vocal performance is drinking lots of water it will help your voice sound as good as it can do.

5)Singing Without Any Inhibitions

The most important thing is to stay relaxed and have a positive style, if you’re too anxious it will be reflected in the first big note you hit. So focus on breathing deeply and staying relaxed and calm, let your song begin and then let yourself go, really shut your eyes for a second and imaging your back at home just singing because you love it.
