The current generation of young couples having children was most likely raised in a family where both parents worked outside of the home. This has certainly become very common place in our society. I have found with my grandchildren that I will ask them to read me the instructions for a recipe that we are making together. This helps them become more confident in reading out loud and also gives them a lesson in what different cooking terms and techniques mean. Teaching helpful household hints can be a fun learning experience for children and are useful for them for the future.
