Change Management

In today’s corporate world the key to existence in the competitive market is the ability to be innovative and keep in step with the constant developments that are taking place in every field. For this reason many changes have taken place in the working strategies of the management in all the government and private sectors. The progress of a company depends totally on the capability of a team but this capability can be increased or decreased by the management. It is the people at the management level who efficiently deal with the people who are working in the organization.

So it is very important that persons at the management level should have the knowledge and the efficiency to deal with complex problems in the work place. That is why nowadays many types of management techniques have been developed to suit the requirements of different types of companies. Change Management is one of the management techniques that may be adopted by a company for its progress and development. So; most of the companies today prefer to appoint those people as managers who can efficiently handle the change that takes place when change management strategy is utilized.

Utility of Change Management

Change management is normally used within an organization to change their teams, individuals, products, organizations or societies. The change is implemented so that the company can progress from the present state to a higher and progressive future state. It is also used to increase the versatile efficiency of the people working in the organization and to eradicate stagnation and monotony of doing the same work.

But while implementing the change the human psychology should also be considered as it is very often found that people do not like to be shifted from the place where they have developed efficiency and put in a new place where they have to strive all over again to prove their efficiency. But this does not mean that the system of change management should not be used. As change management is very useful for efficient working of the organization.

Required stages for successful implementation of change management

There are fives stages which should be taken into consideration for successful implementation of the change management. The five stages are awareness where the organization or an individual should be clear about the need for the change. The need should motivate the individual or the team in the organization to develop a desire for the change.

The desire is not enough the team or the individual should be provided adequate training so that they can get the knowledge about the way they have to change. This knowledge should be such which develops their ability to adopt the change and work accordingly and reinforce the change so that they do not revert back to their old behavior.
